After many years of teaching and finding so many of my pupils shared the same sticky finger moments, I tried to find appropriate exercises to help them, whilst still trying to make practising fun. I could never find a publication that quite hit the mark – so, I decided to create my own!

This great little book which develops basic flute skills is so useful. The twelve short exercises are all given titles so they add a musical point to a technical necessity, and the mix of solos and duets ensures that a different focus is given to each one. Finger control, tuning, rhythm, legato playing and chromatics are all areas that challenge beginner flute players and here they are covered in a knowledgeable and intelligent way. There's even one that includes key slaps which will really fascinate a young player. Top Tips will help with practice and QR codes take you to a live performance video. This is such a good package and highly recommended for beginners everywhere!
